Why is Justice Clarence Thomas getting a free pass?
Federal judges, including Supreme Court justices, are not elected to office. Instead, they are appointed to office by the president of the United States with the advice and consent of the Senate. Once appointed, federal judges hold office for life, unless they resign or are impeached for “Treason, BRIBERY, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors” (U.S. Const. art. II, § 4).
Thomas’ actions are cloaked in deceit and outright lies. While he and his benefactor allege those were “gifts”, even a blind person can see that this was nothing less than bribery. Harlan Crow, Clarence Thomas’ friend and benefactor is cofounder of the Club for Growth and is a major donor to the Republican Party and American conservative causes.
If Clarence Thomas were not a U.S. Supreme Court Justice does anyone think that a multimillionaire would give him such lavish gifts, or pay the tuition for one of his children? Clarence Thomas was born in Pin Point, Georgia. His father abandoned the family, and his grandfather raised him in a poor Gullah community near Savannah. Thomas grew up poor. His professional life, after graduating is as follows: He was appointed as an assistant attorney general in Missouri, he then entered private practice, became a legislative assistant to U.S. Senator John Danforth, became an Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education, he was appointed Chairman of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), he was nominated to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, finally he was confirmed to sit on the United States Supreme Court. While we can see that professionally Clarence Thomas did well for himself, we can also note that he was not a wealthy man.
Harlan Crow and Clarence Thomas met roughly 27 years ago, 5 years after Thomas joined the Supreme Court. RED FLAG. Why would an old white billionaire befriend a black man, whose ancestors were enslaved African people, save for the fact that said black man is a U.S. Supreme Court Justice? At the time Crow was CEO of one of the largest real estate companies in the U.S. and owned several other large U.S. companies. Riddle me this, why do mobsters donate to political campaigns? Well, it’s not out of a sense of civic duty. It’s because they hope to be able to call in a favor later if and when they find themselves in a tight spot. The same holds here. Why would Crow, an old white billionaire befriend an otherwise poor black Supreme Court justice? With all his money, 0 friends, and connections we can see how he could easily induce, and entice Thomas. Before Crow, the only fame Thomas had was infamy over his part in the Anita Hill sex scandal.

As much as I dislike, and disapprove of Justice Samuel Alito’s behavior, or lack thereof, regarding the upside-down flags, and his obvious adherence to and alignment with the MAGA indoctrination, this does not fall within the separation of powers clause as written. It does violate the spirit of the law, that is, of impartiality. Therefore, for the appearance of impartiality and fair justice for all, and the sanctity of the hallowed Supreme Court, Justice Alito should resign from the court, or at the very least recuse himself from any Supreme Court proceedings of Donald J. Trump.
Judge Aileen Cannon another MAGA superstar
U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon is another story. While she is a rookie Judge one can not say that her inaction is due to that. It is obvious that she too is a MAGA sympathizer. She is entertaining frivolous motions to delay any court action on is Trump’s case with the hope that he gets reelected so that he can then pardon himself. While this has never happened, and many legal scholars state that this may be an illegal tactic that the Supreme Court would have to intervene on, if it were to occur. I beg to differ, looking at the actions that Trumps appointed majority conservative-leaning Supreme Court one can extrapolate that Trump will be permitted to take such action.
I have been saying for years now that Germany was a modern megalopolis, it was a bustling democratic economy in the late 1920’s and early 1930’s. I do not believe that the majority of Germans had any inkling that Adolph Hitler would become, well, Hitler. But we know what happened, and it appears that Donald Trump has been following the same playbook. Trump has created a foe (Mexicans, Muslims, immigrants), much the same way Hitler did (Jews). Trump has convinced millions that the news media is nothing more than fake news, just as Hitler did. Trump has convinced millions that our historically impartial, not perfect but certainly functional, government institutions are corrupt, just as Hitler did. Trump has told us what he plans on doing in this second term if elected. He told us that yes he would become a dictator. I do not know why this was so casually dismissed. In Trump’s first term he did not know what he was doing, he did not know how to use of manipulate the federal government and or its institutions to his will. And look at the damage he did. Now he has the benefit of four years of experience. He has developed a cackle of minions ready to do his bidding. Even the politicians that he belittled, spoke ill of their spouses, etc. are willing to forgive him for the chance to be part of his administration. Even so-called religious people, people that claim to be god-fearing, moral decent people are sucking on Trumps’ teat.

The United States Government, while far from perfect, has been functioning perfectly for over 250 years. It had been continuously evolving, reinventing itself. Accommodating and modifying as society itself changed. It was striving for a “more perfect union” as enshrined in the preamble to the United States Constitution as cited here.
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, ensure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
