So, the republicans are using the fact the Hunter Biden has no experience in the natural gas industry and the APPEARANCE of improper activity, as the grounds for their request to investigate him. What they are not stating is that extensive investigation had already been done and nothing came of it. Trump has been in office three (3) years and the republicans never brought up the alleged Biden corruption until the Democrats stated looking into Trump’s phone call wherein he asks for a favor in exchange for A) the release of aide that had already been appropriated by Congress, B) the scheduling of a meeting, in the White House, between the two presidents.
During Trump’s inauguration his two son’s, Donald Jr. and Eric, sold access to the President. This does not look like a conflict of interest, IT IS a conflict of interest.
The president’s daughter Ivanka Trump owns a shoe company. The President’s Special Counselor, Kellyanne Conway went on national TV and told people to go out and buy a pair of her (Ivanka’s) shoes. This does not look like a conflict of interest, IT IS a conflict of interest.
These are just two of the minor improprieties the Trump’s engage in. Lets not forget Donald Trump’s attempt to hold the G7 meetings at his Mar-a-Lago resort, and other international government events held or proposed to be held at other Trump properties. These may or may not violate the Emolluments clause of the constitution, but they sure do have an APPEARANCE of improper activity.
Lets discuss the lack of experience issue. Apparently, according to the current Republican party, experience in government is not necessary (see below), but in the private sector it is a must, as in Burisma Holdings Limited a holding company based in Kyiv, Ukraine and wherein Hunter Biden was on the Board.
1. Elisabeth Dee DeVos has ZERO experience in education but was appointed by Trump to a cabinet level post, Secretary of Education.
2. Benjamin Solomon Carson Sr. has ZERO experience in housing but was appointed by Trump to a cabinet level post, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development
3. Rick Perry has ZERO experience in energy but was appointed by Trump to a cabinet level post, Secretary of Energy.
4. Sonny Perdue, has ZERO experience in agriculture but was appointed by Trump to a cabinet level post, Secretary of Agriculture
If we were to look at the composition (the make up) of the Board of Directors of most American Corporations and/or Companies I would venture to say that 99.99% of those sitting on those Boards have no experience. The Republicans do but if anyone else tries to do they begin to whine and cry foul.
For the eight (8) years Barrack Obama was president Donald J. Trump cried and whined that he (Obama) was not a citizen of the U.S. Despite Trump’s unfounded allegations and all the oppositions/roadblocks curled Obama during his 8 year term there was not one scandal within his administration. Trump has been in office three (3) years how many scandals has ensued thus far?
In addition to the impeachment hearings currently taking place, Donald J. Trump is in court right now for MANY violations and other infractions.
As the late great New York Yankee catcher, Yogi Berra, used to say “It’s Déjà vu all over again.”
During the 2016 presidential campaign Trump diligently went the front runner, then the actual democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. He used the email server as a tactic to divert attention from his own lack of experience in government. Back then, 2016, that tactic worked. Now leading into the 2020 election he and his minions are using the same playbook of diversion. They saw Joe Biden as the front runner and the likely Democratic Candidate so they are using the same play book. This time using Joe’s son Biden as the diversion.
